    Description
    The project consists of replacing the existing 1960s wing of the Pioneer Lodge with a new three-storey development. This new wing will include larger suites and new amenity rooms for all lodge residents to enjoy. The project also includes a renovation to the existing administration, atrium, dining areas, and kitchen. This renovation will provide updated layouts and a new expanded kitchen to accommodate the larger capacity of the facility. The new expansion includes 65 suites made up of single and two-bedroom units. The main floor of the facility will include 22 independent suites with kitchens, and the second and third floors will include lodge suites with kitchenettes. All suites include barrier-free washrooms with walk-in showers to allow for aging in place. The building’s exterior landscaping, as well as the interior, exterior amenity and support spaces, have also been designed with barrier-free inclusiveness in mind. The project focuses on improving the health and well-being of residents through thoughtful design strategies which consider the needs of diverse populations. The new design is intended to encourage social interactions, both planned and spontaneous. These interactions will be accommodated and encouraged through a variety of indoor and outdoor gathering spaces. This expansion project will benefit the residents of Lloydminster by providing updated housing opportunities which allow people to age in place within their community and maintain their community ties.
