The University buildings use a fully integrated common HVAC controls operational platform that provides centralized monitoring and control from the Unified Communications Control and Operations Centre. The J-8000 is used exclusively for building controls data replication of vendor based HVAC control systems and needs to be replaced and upgraded because the existing product version is no longer supported. Controlco Automation Distributors is the authorized reseller provided by the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) to distribute to the University of Alberta directly, and can provide the necessary upgrade replacements along with support to ensure smooth transition. Only OEM products can be considered for this upgrade to ensure continued compatibility with the existing JACE6 AX controller product. OEM reseller agreements with vendors vary and not using the recommended reseller will cause licensing problems, which would lead to incompatibility issues with the University’s existing HVAC system.
