vSIM2 Online Application Software

The Faculty of Nursing submitted a sole source request on February 20, 2024 to purchase vSIM2 Online Application Software. Currently, simulation experiences delivered by the Nursing Simulation Centre have increased to help with the clinical capacity challenges and to ensure students are getting practice in a safe environment before performing their skills on patients in the clinical settings. The programming of the simulated learning experiences relies on the development and implementation of patient simulated learning scenarios. Specifically, these courses allow the students to "follow" the patient scenario through virtual simulation, integrated lab learning activities, and progress to high fidelity simulator based learning experiences. The vSIM2 Online Application Software offered by Laerdal is the only software that interfaces with the department’s current systems, without limiting the simulation experience.
