Belmon Civic Site - Fieldhouse and Library

1) This RFP is open to all interested bidders 2) The City of Calgary (The City) is issuing the Request for Proposal (RFP) for the purpose of retaining a qualified consulting firm to act as a prime consultant for this project. The City will select a single integrated team led by the Consultant to provide all services from design through post construction, to deliver the Belmont Civic Site – Fieldhouse and Library project (The Project) as outlined in this RFP. The Belmont Civic Site – Fieldhouse and Library project will be moving forward as the two main programming scopes within one integrated project: (1) Fieldhouse; and (2) Library. This Belmont Civic Site – Fieldhouse and Library project focuses on the design of the above facilities including supporting amenities such as washrooms, change rooms, parking and associated site requirements. This site is adjacent to a future Calgary Board of Education site and the surrounding community to the North and East. If funding for the other programming elements defined in the Master plan is achieved prior to the end of the project/timeframe, this RFP may be extended for the consultant team to complete the design through post construction services for any added program elements. A master plan for the site has been completed and the layout of the Fieldhouse and Library places the facilities on the Southwest portion of the site. The work to be performed by the Consultant will include coordinating the disciplines of: • Architectural design and prime consultant services; • Sustainability consulting and energy modelling; • Landscape architecture; and • Engineering disciplines for the design and construction of the facility and site. This Belmont Civic Site – Fieldhouse and Library project anticipates the following phases: • Phase 1 Pre-Design and Masterplan – completed. See additional details in the Backgorund section of Appendix B – Requirements; • Phase 2 Schematic Design; • Phase 3 Design Development; • Phase 4 Construction Documentation; • Phase 5 Procurement Services Assistance; • Phase 6 Contract Administration Services; and • Phase 7 Post Construction Services and Warranty.
