    Description
    Notice of Intent to Direct Award
    The Patient Team Call (PTC) formerly Nurse Call system
    at BC Children’s and BC Women’s Hospital
    Document Number: 018NOI22EZ

    Provincial Health Services Authority (“PHSA”) intends to enter into direct negotiations and contract with Logical Solutions (Supplier) for delivery and receipt for integration as part of The Patient Team Call (PTC) formerly Nurse Call system at BC Children’s and BC Women’s (C&W) hospital project. Two separate awards will be covered by the Notice of Intent. The value of this purchase is between $510,000.00 and 760,000.00 plus tax.

    PHSA has chosen to negotiate directly for the following reasons:
    • Replacement of the existing Rauland Responder 4 Nurse Call system with new Rauland Responder 5 is critical to unify the system throughout the C&W campus so that the replacement systems can work in alignment with the system in the Teck Acute Care Centre building to maintain the continuity of calls, which currently can be dropped when systems don’t align;
    • Upgrade of the existing Rauland server and software, which is preventing application upgrade to occur;
    • The immediate replacement of the existing Rauland Responder 4 with Rauland Responder 5  is critical due to the high risk of failure of non-replacement components and shortage of the parts for old system;
    • Logical Solutions installed the Rauland Responder 5 in the Teck Acute Care Centre building and also provides technical support for the current systems;
    • Logical Solutions is the original equipment supplier for this Rauland systems and also the only authorized supplier in BC able to provide the required upgrade to this proprietary equipment;
    • The successful Supplier will provide the required Nurse Call Responder equipment for delivery onsite to C&W campus for March 24, 2023;
    • The successful Supplier will work with the campus to complete cabling rough-ins and server programming prior to March 24, 2023.
    • The successful Supplier will provide the required insurance and assurances for equipment purchase, transit, installation, warranty which includes Comprehensive Commercial General Liability insurance coverage in an amount not less than $5,000,000.00 inclusive per occurrence against bodily injury, personal injury and property damage.
    Qualified Suppliers may submit to participate in this acquisition opportunity by challenging this Notice of Intent sending an email to Elizabeth Zhu no later than 15:00 Hours on Jan 3, 2023, providing proof of qualifications, suitable equipment in the lower mainland for evaluation, required transportation, insurance and bonding coverage, work plan and warranties related to the requirements outlined in this NOI.  Only challenges from qualified equipment suppliers will be reviewed.
