PROJECT SUMMARY: The primary objective of the citywide archaeological overview assessment is to determine the archaeological potential or sensitivity of private and public lands in Powell River.
The archaeological overview assessment will identify and map recorded and unrecorded archaeological sites, assess the impact of potential future development activity on sensitive sites, and propose the need, method, and scope for future archaeological research.
Findings from this work will inform and support an update of the City of Powell River’s Official Community Plan.
Please see Section 2 for the full scope of work.
TIMELINE: The contract must be completed by May 3, 2024.
