Sanitary Sewer Main Replacement 3015 & 3035 McCallum Road

The City of Abbotsford invites tenders for Sanitary Sewer Main Replacement 3015 & 3035 McCallum Road.
The work includes, but is not necessarily limited to, the following:
- install approximately 200m of 600mm diameter PVC DR35 sanitary sewer (pipe supplied by City);
-supply and install five 1200mm diameter manholes;
- tree clearing; optional tree replanting; environmental compensation
- permanent asphalt reinstatement of trench line
- supply and install service connections (new and reinstatement)
- various material and equipment relocation and site restoration activities.
Construction will be in two stages:
Stage 1: Clearing (excluding grubbing, which can only be done in Stage 2), with an approximate start
date of February 15, 2023, such that clearing must be completed prior to the start of the bird nesting season,
which is expected to begin in mid to late March 2023.
Stage 2: Work in the Environmentally Sensitive Area (within 30m of the centre line of the creek – refer to
drawing included in Appendix C of the Design Report) with an approximate start date of May 15, 2023. It is
anticipated that pipe installation in the Environmentally Sensitive Area will be done first as it is the
downstream section, however there is the option for work in other areas to begin earlier than May 15, 2023.
The tender is being issued electronically through Bonfire (a Procurement Portal utilized by the City of
Abbotsford for document distribution and collection) where any interested party may download the tender
documents directly. A link to Bonfire will be posted on the BC Bid website (https://new.bcbid.gov.bc.ca/).
Bonfire notifies all document takers by email of all addenda or other communications issued by the City.

Road, to be uploaded electronically through Bonfire Procurement Portal as per the Submission
Instructions included with the tender documents.
Tenders must be accompanied by an electronic copy of the specified 10% Bid Bond, and Consent of Surety.
Both digital bonds and scanned paper bonds are acceptable. Tender closing time and date: 2:00 p.m. local
time, December 13, 2022. An auto reply acknowledgement of receipt of the Tender will be sent by email.
There will NOT be a public tender opening. Unverified bid results will be uploaded to Bonfire and a
notification email will be sent to all document takers. The lowest, or any tender, may not necessarily be
accepted.
