Description
Notice of Intent to Award a Contract
Notice is hereby given that the City of Abbotsford (the “City”) is contemplating making a direct award of a contract to SG Wilson Trucks & Equipment LLC. for the following:
The City of Abbotsford requires snow removal equipment to maintain the airport runways during winter snow events. Winter snow events are limited due to the mild climate in the Fraser Valley. This specialized equipment is required to maintain operations during these events but the duration of service is very limited. The procurement of used but good quality equipment provides the best value to the City. The Airport already has Oshkosh equipment in its fleet and this additional unit will provide fleet standardization and allow for attachments to be interchanged between the entire fleet.
The contract will be for the purchase of one (1) 2009 Oshkosh H2723B multi purpose snow blower. All wheel drive and all wheel steering.
Rationale for Contemplating a Direct Award
SG Wilson Trucks & Equipment LLC. Is located in Oregon and has provided the City two previous used OshKosh Snowblowers that have been of excellent quality. The purchase of used equipment to maintain airport operations during winter events provides essential equipment that is reliable. This used equipment provides excellent value as compared to purchasing new equipment required for limited use.
Contract Value:
The value of the contract is expected not to exceed $180,000 USD plus applicable taxes.
Submission of Objection Notice
Any Respondents that still wish to object to this decision they should email their objection to the attention of Timothy McBride, Manager, Procurement, Procurement Services at https://abbotsford.bidsandtenders.ca by April 2, 2024 before 2:00 p.m. local time.
