Island Health currently operates a scheduled delivery structure across the whole of Vancouver Island, consisting of 40 routes. These routes generally provide a means to pickup and deliver supplies, lab samples, medications, internal mail and equipment between Island Health facilities.
The route structure typically has a series of major ‘linking routes’ operating between the larger sites, and acting as a spine along the island. From these large sites, a series of smaller, localized deliveries are made.
The routes are largely on a Monday to Friday basis, but some also operate across weekends and/or statutory holidays (stats). The ability to support 7 day a week operations is essential.
