Description
In 2021 the City of Nanaimo established a Community Clean Team for the removal of waste from public spaces and in 2022 a second team was funded. It was determined that a combination of a dump truck & a hook truck provided the most flexibility to complete the work. At the time the City did not have a hook truck available so one was rented for what was intended to be a short period of time. Since then the accumulated rental cost has exceeded $75,000 and it is anticipated that an additional $60,000 will be needed for the remainder of the year.
