Closing date and time 2024/05/03 15:00 EDT

    Description
ʔaq̓am is a First Nations community government organization that services 374 Band Members and other aboriginal peoples within the Ktunaxa Nation. Geographically, the community is located 8km North of Cranbrook in the East Kootenay region of British Columbia.
In July 2023, the St. Mary’s Wildfire (N11805) , which was 4,640 hectares, tore though ʔaq̓am in which most of the fire damage occurred on ʔaq̓am reserve land. We are looking for field crews to conduct preliminary stand assessments and suitability for fibre recovery with an emphasis on ecological restoration. The scope of the project will ensure ʔaq̓am’s cultural values are being balanced with recovering an economic benefit from ʔaq̓am’s proprietary forest resources to a local timber buyer while meeting ecosystem restoration principles.
We are seeking written quotations from applicants with experience in post wildfire field analysis and data collection, layout for wildfire salvage, and understanding key ecosystem-based restoration efforts.

    Contract duration
