    Description

    Summary:

    Through this Request for Proposals (“RFP”), the City of Merritt (the “City”) invites Proposals from suitability qualified and experienced companies, interested in performing work to remove and re-paint/coat the pool surfaces of the ‘Tot’ and ‘Leisure’ pools at the Nicola Valley Aquatic Centre . 
    The Work will include, but is not limited to, the following:
    • Removal of existing painted surface (believed to include several coats of paint) using either sandblasting or soda ash methods;
    • Installation of multi-coat product pool surface paint in accordance with manufacturer's instructions;
    • Removal of existing caulking behind grates;
    • Provision of warranty inspection; and
    • Other ancillary works as detailed herein.
    Further details of the Work requirements is provided in Division 1, plus Exhibits A and B of this RFP.  
    Location: The Place of the Work is the Nicola Valley Aquatic Centre, 2040 Mamette Avenue, Merritt, BC.
    Maximum Budget:  The City has a maximum budget of $42,500 plus GST for all Work.  Proposals to this RFP should not exceed this maximum budget.
    Contract Time: The following are key milestone dates required for the Work:
    •    The Contractor may mobilize to the Place of the Work anytime after September 2, 2023
    •    The Work must be performed within the following ‘Work Window’, when the ‘Tot’ and ‘Leisure’ pools are to be drained.
    • Pools will be drained on: September 2, 2023
    • Work Window is: September 4 to September 22 , 2023 (inclusive).
    • The Work must be fully complete, with ‘Ready for Takeover’ achieved for both pools no later than September 22, 2023.
    Form of Contract: The Form of Contract to be executed between the City and the Contractor for the Work will be the Canadian Construction Documents Committee CCDC2 – 2020 Stipulated Price Contract, as modified by Supplementary Conditions. 
    RFP Approach:  In this RFP, the City has prescribed its minimum requirements and overarching objectives for the Work.  In submitting Proposals to this RFP, Respondents are requested to propose their recommended solution that best achieves those requirements and objectives, within the City’s maximum budget.   Proposals will be evaluated in accordance with the criteria stated in Section 00 21 13.
