Description
Island Health is seeking to lease a suitable facility-based setting of approximately eight thousand, and forty-eight (8,048) usable square feet in Nanaimo. The facility can be located on a single floor or multiple contiguous floors in the same building, provided an elevator and full barrier-free accessibility is provided.
Island Health will be using the facility to provide supportive medical withdrawal management to clients.Landlords are being asked to submit a proposal to lease a facility that meets the criteria outlined below or space that does not meet the exact requirements; in which case, the Landlord shall note in the proposal where the proposed solution is in variation from the requirements outlined herein.
Island Health is proposing a medical withdrawal facility in Nanaimo with a location that would accommodate a minimum of 18 beds, assumed to comprise 6 double occupancy rooms and 6 single occupancy rooms in the space requirements included in Appendix A, allowing for service to a greater client population. The facility will operate through a team-based approach and can include services provided by family physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, mental health and substance use consultants and social workers, as required by the local population.
The facility will operate twenty-four (24) hours per day, seven (7) days per week.
