    Description
Tree planting of approximately 618,300 (six hundred and eighteen thousand and three hundred) trees in areas damaged by wildfires in the Merritt Timber Supply Area (TSA) in the Cascades Natural Resource District. The activities include tree planting, danger tree assessments, and tree falling where required for safety, along with all operations-related tasks to tree planting, such as thawing requests, ordering trees, and seedling transportation. Final tree numbers to plant may vary as tree numbers are dependent on the delivery of seedlings from the nurseries.
Through the delivery of the Services the Province wishes to realize the following outcomes and, without limiting the obligation of the Contractor to comply with other provisions of this Part, the Contractor must use commercially reasonable efforts to achieve them:  Reforestation of areas that have been damaged by wildfires to help mitigate mid-term timber supply impacts.  Reforestation of areas that have been damaged by wildfires to help restore the hydrology of watersheds in the Cascades Natural Resource District.  Reforestation of areas damaged by wildfires to help mitigate the impacts of critical wildlife habitats across landscapes.  Reforestation of areas damaged by wildfires to help mitigate the impacts of climate change through carbon sequestration from newly established trees.
