Description
The Ministry of Water, Land and Resource Stewardship (WLRS) delivers several annual and ongoing projects funded by the Fish and Wildlife Compensation Program – Columbia (FWCP). These annual and ongoing projects are long term projects involving a wide variety of project partners and collaborators. Each project addresses priority actions for wildlife and habitats impacted by reservoir habitat losses.
For this opportunity, the Ministry is seeking to enter into a single contract with a Contractor to provide Fertilizer Dispensing Services for the Kootenay Lake Nutrient Restoration Program (NRP). The geographical area of distribution is near Kaslo BC. These Services will include communicating with the fertilizer supplier and Ministry Fish Restoration Biologist, loading fertilizer from the fertilizer supplier subcontracted trucking company, and dispensing fertilizer per the schedule and location provided by Ministry. The Contractor will be required to provide a vessel and crew compliant with Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure or Transport Canada (as appropriate) safety regulations, provide a vessel that has the capacity to dispense a minimum of 39 tonnes of fertilizer at approx. 4.6 knots/hr, can travel on the North and South Arms of Kootenay Lake in inclement weather conditions, and provide all loading, unloading and dispensing infrastructure necessary to carry out the Services, including a pump, tank and hoses. The Contractor is expected to clean loading sites if spills occur.
The Contract will be for a one-year term, with the option to extend on the same terms and conditions at the Province’s sole discretion for up to two one-year extensions.
