    Description
Notice is hereby given that the Ministry of Forests is contemplating making a direct award of a contract to Philip G. Comeau (the “Supplier”).
The high-level details of the contemplated contract are generally described below.
    The contract will involve:
-completing growth and yield modelling using the Mixedwood Growth Model for a range of early stand and site conditions.
-using the modelled results to develop new broadleaf, mixedwood, successional, and conifer stocking standards for regeneration and free growing using measurable and projected metrics.
-using the modelled results and available research to propose changes to current competing vegetation criteria for conifer stocking standards.
-developing algorithms to allow for the projection of various stand attributes based on free growing survey data.
-using the modelled results and research to develop full rotation broadleaf and mixedwood management regimes to achieve various objectives (e.g., biodiversity, habitat, wildfire resilience, timber).
-validating the Mixedwood Growth Model using permanent sample plots (e.g., CMI, YSM, PSPs) and local forest health information.
-comparing the Mixedwood Growth Model results to other growth and yield models. -summarizing results and recommendation in reports.
