Description
Support the legislated functions of the director of Policing and Law Enforcement Services in s.40 and s. 40.01 of the Police Act to establish binding BC Provincial Policing Standards in key areas of policing, including police use of force, weapons or tactics and associated processes, crisis intervention and de-escalation, and detention facilities. Supports broader legislated role of the Policing and Law Enforcement Services in s. 39 of the Act to superintend Policing in BC. The expertise will assist staff and other consultant resources with the completion of the following projects:
• New or amendments to BC Provincial Policing Standards related to use of force.
• Various use of force or weapons-related training provincial course.
• Advising on various aspects related to police use of force in different contexts and other related emerging issues.
The term of the contract is expected to be 12 months.
The annual value of the contract is expected not to exceed, exclusive of applicable taxes $35,000.
