Description
The District of Squamish is seeking a professional engineering consulting firm to assist with the development of the District’s Wastewater Treatment Plant Master Plan (the “Plan”).
The District completed a Liquid Waste Management Plan (LWMP) in 2015, which identified the need for future treatment upgrades to increase capacity in response to growth, improve effluent consumption and implement recovery where possible, and repair or improve poorly functioning components. Since completion of the LWMP, major upgrades have been completed at the wastewater treatment plant, including construction of a new secondary clarifier and concentric-ring bioreactor, conversion of two existing secondary clarifiers to primary clarifiers, upgrades to electrical systems, and construction of a new septage receiving facility.
The Plan will build on previous engineering studies and completed capital improvements. The objective of the Plan is to develop a 25-year capacity plan to accommodate community growth and a 50-year staging plan for future plant upgrades to account for community growth. Interested suppliers can view and register for the opportunity on the District's bids and tenders project page.
