WCGH CT & Xray - Construction Manager

The purpose of this RFP is to hire a Construction Manager that can complete the two simultaneous projects in the Medical Imaging Department of WCGH.
Project A: The CT scanner replacement project’s premise is to replace end of life medical radiography equipment. The main scope of work is to renovate the CT Scanner Room (2242B) at West Coast General Hospital, providing necessary upgrades to accommodate the installation of the new equipment. The CT scanner will be purchased by Island Health.
Demolition work will include removal of the existing CT scanner, millwork, partial lead and non-leaded lined walls, ceilings and removal of non-containing sheet floor and possible portion of exterior curtain wall to portable CT scanner.
Construction work may include installation of a new structural ceiling support system for the overhead equipment or patient lift, potential upgrade to the lead shielding in the existing walls, flooring, walls, doors, new exterior entrance in curtain wall and to coordinate the install of the new CT scanner. Project B: The X-ray Room 1 replacement project’s premise is to replace end of life medical radiography equipment. The main scope of work is to renovate the X-ray room 1 (2277) at West Coast General Hospital, providing necessary upgrades to accommodate the installation of the new equipment. The X-ray machine for the room will be purchased by Island Health.
Demolition work will include removal of the existing X-ray machine, millwork, partial lead and non-leaded lined walls, ceilings and removal of non-containing sheet flooring.
Construction work may include installation of a new structural ceiling support system for the overhead equipment, potential upgrade to the lead shielding in the existing walls, flooring, walls, doors, ceilings, and millwork to coordinate install of the new X-ray machine. (Siemens)
An additional scope of work may include temporary x-ray rooms to be constructed, pending confirmation of available budget. This project may require an upgrade the base building electrical system, which will require after-hours work to accommodate. The contractor should expect the construction to be completed in phases in order to maintain workflow through the hospital.
