The City of Prince Rupert is seeking quotations from qualified tenderers in response to this request for tenders for the provision of Services to be carried out within the required schedule set out herein for the 3rd & 4th Avenue walkway Repairs.
The City currently maintains the 3rd & 4th Avenue walkway. The affected pedestrian route spans approximately 160 metres in length and descends a steep embankment through a combination of asphalt paths, elevated wood and concrete structures, and stairways. The most significant damage was observed on approximately 28 m of the wooden stair and walkway structures running parallel to 3rd Avenue West, where a slope failure and resulting tree fall compromised the structural integrity of the walkway and stairs. The City is requesting tenders for the replacement of the damaged walkway and removal and disposal of the damaged components.
Scope of Services
The services will comprise of repairs for the 3rd & 4th Avenue walkway, including:
(i)disassembly and disposal of unsafe or irreparable structural components.
(ii)Removal of guardrails and posts.
(iii)Removal of debris and unstable materials from slope.
(iv)Installation of new cast-in-place concrete footings.
(v)Construction of new timber stair and walkway structures.
(vi)Site restoration including regrading, landscaping, and erosion control measures.
(vii)Installation or reinstatement of safety features such including handrails/guardrails.
(viii)Final inspection and certification of repaired structures for public use.
