    Description
SFU needs to purchase a new Magnetoencephalography (MEG) system to support research and clinical protocols. Helium is a non-renewable resource, where demand is currently larger than supply. Prices for liquid helium have risen by 135% over the past two years and expect to keep rising. A solution is to purchase a new system that comes with zero-loss helium recycling technology. In addition, we require a system with implemented noise suppression and movement compensation technology in order to obtain high-quality data from pediatric and clinical populations.

It is SFU’s intention to award a contract to MEGIN US LLC to purchase the MEG system.

An ACAN is a public notice indicating to the supplier community that SFU intends to award a contract for goods, services, or construction to a pre-identified supplier, thereby allowing other suppliers to signal their interest in bidding, by submitting a statement of capabilities. If no supplier submits a Statement of Capabilities that meets the requirements set out in the ACAN, on or before the submission deadline stated in the ACAN, SFU may then proceed with the award to the pre-identified supplier. If other potential suppliers submit Statements of Capabilities during the posting period, and meet the requirements set out in this ACAN, SFU may proceed to a Request for Proposal process.

Submission of a Statement of Capabilities

Suppliers who consider themselves fully qualified and available to provide the system described in the ACAN, may respond with a Statement of Capabilities, in writing to the SFU contact identified in this notice, on or before the response deadline of this ACAN. The Statement of Capabilities must clearly demonstrate how the supplier meets the minimum essential requirements.

The Statement of Capabilities must be submitted to zlsheng@sfu.ca.
