Description
As per the Interim Reclamation Security Policy, all Major Mines in British Columbia are required to submit a detailed Reclamation Liability Cost Estimate (RLCE) as part of their initial Mines Act permit application, amendment applications as deemed necessary by the Chief Permitting Officer, and as part of the 5-Year Reclamation and Closure Program Update.
The Major Mines Office (MMO), Ministry of Energy, Mines and Low Carbon Innovation, is undertaking a multi-phased project to develop and implement a Standardized RLCE Calculator for Major Mines in BC. The Standardized Reclamation Cost Estimator (SRCE), initially developed by the State of Nevada and now available for use publicly, has been selected by MMO to be adopted as part of the Standardized RLCE Calculator for Major Mines in BC.
