The Ministry of Forests in the Northeast Region is looking to complete a wildfire risk reduction treatment adjacent to Wonowon. The operational activities are a continuation of GS22FSJ0027.  There are approximately 28.2 hectares to treat and piles to burn. There are two treatment regimes: Treatment Unit 1 (TU1) and Treatment Unit 2 (TU2) comprising approximately 10 hectares and 14 hectares respectively. Piles and windrows were left to season over the 2022 summer and need to be re-piled and burnt. The windrows need to be broken up every 200 meters prior to ignition to comply with Open Burning Smoke Control Regulations.
