Description
This contract will require the contractor to grade the identified Forest Service Road sections; grading will involve pulling the road shoulders, surface grading and crowning the road profile, and final packing of the road surface.
During the winter the contractor will be required to respond to snowfall events as per the response times defined in Schedule C of the contract. Winging back of snow banks will also be required throughout the winter season. If required, the contractor must provide traction control in the form of ice blading and/or sanding and is expected to have the capability to complete all listed works (Plowing, Ice blading and Sanding).
Other miscellaneous duties may involve culvert maintenance; minor road repairs; and right-of-way maintenance, such as falling or bucking trees that may fall within the road prism, throughout the term of the contract.
The contractor will also be required to monitor the weather and road conditions in order to provide appropriate maintenance responses. This monitoring will include occasional direction from the ministry representative, field inspections by the contractor, and contacting the local residents.
