Description
BC Parks is inviting proposals to implement prescribed wildfire risk reduction mechanical and hand treatments in 55.4 hectares of Dragon Mountain Park over a one-year term.
The objective of treatment is to reduce the risk of wildfire to critical infrastructure within and outside the park, as well as to the park’s natural, cultural, and recreation values.
The services required include but are not limited to: mechanical tree thinning, pruning, surface fuel reduction, and treatment debris disposal by either pile burning (completed concurrently with treatment where conditions allow) and/or other methods that are proposed.
The amount of prescribed tree removal is phased based on proximity to powerlines/road. There is an estimated 2,400m3 of merchantable volume that will be generated from this project. The successful contractor must follow the conditions of the Forest Licence to Cut (FLTC) for this project.
