Notice of Intent to Award a Contract
Notice is hereby given that the City of Abbotsford (the “City”) is contemplating making a direct award of a contract to Urban Valley Transport Ltd. (the “Service Provider”’ the “Supplier”, etc.) for the following: City of Abbotsford – Internal Courier ServicesThe contract extension will be for 6 months from December 1, 2025, to May 31, 2026.
Background
The City of Abbotsford has an existing agreement with Urban Valley Transport Ltd. for the provision of Internal Courier Services. This agreement is expiring on November 30, 2025, with no option years remaining.
Scope of Services or Specifications
Urban Valley Transport Ltd will provide Courier Services till May 31, 2026, for the City. These include distributing mail for a variety of City facilities on a daily basis.
Rationale for Contemplating a Direct Award
The City is contemplating a direct award with Urban Valley Transport Ltd for the following reason:To ensure continuity of Courier Services and avoid any business operational disruption due to a transition or change of service provider while the City prepares to issue solicitation documents to market on December 15, 2025.Contract Value:
The value of the extension is $45,000.00 CAD and the total value of the contract is expected not to exceed $452,338.52 CAD plus applicable taxes.
Submission of Objection Notice
Any Respondents that still wish to object to this decision they should email their objection to the attention of Sailesh Kapadia, Buyer III, Procurement Services at https://abbotsford.bidsandtenders.ca by Wednesday, December 3, 2025 no later than 2:00 p.m. local time. Submissions by other methods will not be accepted.
Respondents objecting must outline specific reasons for their objection in their email as well as demonstrate their ability to perform the contemplated work and/or services and show availability and resources. The Respondent’s ability to provide goods and services of the same or better quality and price and within the required period will be the key criteria used in the consideration of any Respondent’s objections.
