Notice is hereby given that the Ministry of Forests is contemplating making a direct award of a contract to FOR-CAST Research & Analytics (the “Supplier”).
The high-level details of the contemplated contract are generally described below.
The primary project goal for the ICH Landscape Carbon Modelling Research Project is to assess innovative silviculture regimes on their ability to meet multiple values between 2025 and 2100. We are building on Indigenous knowledge, extensive research into Interior Cedar Hemlock forest types over the last 30+ years, and the current Gitanyow Land Use Plan. Management regimes will be assessed based on shared values including timber supply resilience, growing stock, carbon balance, and carbon storage. We will be using the model LANDIS-II.
The February 26, 2027 deliverables are:Fire regime parameterization implementation, testing, and documentation Management regime parameterization implementation, testing, and documentation Simulation, analysis and documentation of management, fire and climate change scenarios
