Summary:
Through this Request for Proposals, the City of Merritt invites Proposals from organizations that meet the following pre-requisites:The organization provides BOTH hazardous material abatement services AND building demolition services as core services using direct-employed personnel (without the use of subcontractors). The organization possesses an asbestos abatement license. The organization meets the other staff qualification and other pre-requisites as listed in this RFP document.Proposals are sought in order to provide hazardous material abatement and building demolition services in support of the City’s program to demolish approximately 9 dwellings and 12 accessory buildings at various locations along the Coldwater River in Merritt, BC as part of the City’s Coldwater River Dike Construction project. The successful Respondent selected from this RFP process will enter into a ‘Standing Offer Agreement’ for a 3-year term (July 1st 2026 to June 30th 2029) whereby services will be offered on an ‘as and when required basis’. The City and the successful Respondent will then work together to mutually agree specific service assignments required for each building, dependent on how the City’s acquisition program progresses and the result of hazardous material assessments completed by the City’s Hazard Assessment consultant. No minimum quantity of services will be guaranteed to the successful Respondent.
