1. SURREY SCHOOL DISTRICT INTRODUCTIONThe largest district in BC, the School District No. 36 (Surrey) (“SD36”) has 105 elementary schools, 22 secondary schools, five adult learning centres (“LC”), a Facility Centre and the District Education Centre (“DEC”) campus which includes a Resource Education Centre (“REC”). The district also offers a variety of satellite and inter-agency programs serving a wide range of student needs.

2. DESCRIPTION OF OPPORTUNITYSD36 is seeking expressions of interest from current non-profit operators of licensed child care with the skills, experience, and resources to operate such child care and who may be interested in operating before and after school care as described below at (4) locations in Surrey BC: Beaver Creek Elementary Cedar Hills Elementary Royal Heights Elementary Theresa Clarke Elementary SD36 may choose to award or not award any of these spaces to an operator(s) or may change the site location entirely dependent on SD36 requirements. Should an operator be selected to run child care at a site, a license agreement would be entered into and the associated license fees charged to the operator. The spaces available may be used only to operate before and after school care as indicated below.
Before and after school care programming should be operational by September 2026, with license fees being paid by that time.
Priority access to child care programming must be given to children who are enrolled, or who are going to be enrolled, at the host school first, then at neighbouring schools, then to residents of Surrey and then to any child.
