    VIRTUAL INFORMATION MEETING
    BC Housing intends to hold a virtual information meeting for Proponents at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 18, 2024, through Microsoft Teams. The purpose of this meeting will be to provide Proponents with an overview of the RFP process and the Deliverables and to provide an informal opportunity for Proponents to ask questions.  Proponents are strongly encouraged to attend the meeting but are under no obligation to do so.  If a Proponent does not attend, the Proponent will be deemed to have received any information provided to the other Proponents at the information meeting.  Key subcontractors that include plumbing/repipe, electrical/fire alarm, and sprinkler should attend the information meeting.

    Proponents who are interested in attending the information meeting must submit their request for the Teams Meeting invite no later than, Wednesday, January 17, 2024 @ 2:00 p.m. PT. to Jocelan Blackwell at Jblackwell@bchousing.org

    Requests received after this deadline will not receive the meeting invitation.  Subcontractor attendance is highly recommended for the information meeting.

    MANDATORY SITE MEETING
    It is the responsibility of the Proponent to investigate and become familiar with local and site conditions.  BC Housing will be holding a site visit at the following time, date, and location:
    Tuesday, January 23, 2024 @ 10:00 a.m. PT.
    Site Meeting Location – Cypress Walk, 2425 Cypress Street, Vancouver, BC.

    Attendance at the site visit is also mandatory for Electrical, Mechanical, Fire Protection Sprinkler subcontractors.  As a condition of entering the site, the Proponent agrees to comply with, and cause all its representatives to comply with, all site rules which may be established by BC Housing. Key subcontractors that include plumbing/repipe, electrical/fire alarm, and sprinkler should attend the mandatory site meeting as this will be the only meeting with all subconsultants in attendance.
    Site visits begin promptly at the time, date and location specified above.

    A sign-in sheet will be provided, and all Bidders are required to sign in. Note that submissions will only be reviewed for those Bidders who have attended and signed the sign-in sheet. No exceptions to this will be permitted.

    Brief Description of Work
    The following are some of the key elements of the Deliverables:
        1. Fire alarm system replacement
        2. Fire suppression sprinkler system retrofit including expansion of existing from parkade into all building areas, residential suites, attics, and balconies complete with dry system as defined on the RFP documents.
        3. Domestic water distribution system replacement (repipe)
        4. Electric baseboard heater replacement complete with new controls.
        5. Common area lighting replacement
        6. Suite bathroom ventilation upgrades complete with new fan controls.
        7. Targeted building envelope repairs
          1. Targeted membrane roof replacement
          2. Targeted exterior stair repair and repainting
          3. Targeted suspended slab membrane repairs, gutter and downspout replacement complete with new drains at suspended slab
        8. Parkade garage door opener and fob system replacement, and
        9. Parkade water meter room, sump pump, and ventilation upgrades.
