Description
Island Health Clinical Information Support requires assistance to complete day care surgery coding volume estimated to be 28,000 records for the fiscal year 2022-2023 and a similar volume of day care records in future years. A multi-year contract is the desired outcome of this RFP in order to improve timeliness of the data. The national deadline set by the Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI) for completion of this work is June 30, 2023 and subsequent June 30ths in future years.
For the fiscal year 2022/23, there is a provincial initiative to implement the new coding tools of CodeFinder and Computer Assisted Coding. These new coding tools will provide productivity efficiencies, data consistency and improved data quality. CodeFinder went live on October 4, 2022. Computer assisted coding is anticipated to go live in July 2023.
