Description
The Crown Contaminated Sites Program invites proposals from firms specializing in general infrastructure maintenance and minor construction for the Britannia Mine Remediation Project. The objective of the work is to facilitate environmental remediation projects and protect worker and public safety. The work is largely ad- hoc in nature, on an as requested basis, although some work such as road maintenance and upgrades is routine.
Anticipated Scope of WorkMaintenance and upgrades of the 11km backcountry road from Britannia Beach to Jane Basin Installation, upgrades and maintenance to surface water drainage systems Installation, upgrades and maintenance to the Beta Portal diversion system Installation of safety signage Safety repairs to block mine entries to prevent access (some in remote areas of the Site) Other ad hoc general infrastructure construction and maintenance works Assist the Project Manager with developing workplans and schedules for the work Provide labour, equipment and materials to undertake the work Liaise with other contractors and operators at the Site and the Mine Manager in the execution of the work Respond immediately to requests for emergency work such as a burst pipe, rockfall/treefall onto road
