DTA/DTF and Trail Clearing of Post-Wildfire Planting Units in the 100 Mile House Natural Resource District
Solicitation number BCSP27DMH015

Closing date and time 2026/05/21 17:00 EDT
Description
Both contracts, which are an option to renew for three years (if there is budget available to 100 Mile House Natural Resource District), require an estimated 10,000 meters of ATV trail cutting and 500 hectares of danger tree assessments and danger tree falling each.
All trailing clearing and DTA/DTF work must be done before planters are on site. Most, if not all blocks, will be provided to the successful bidder(s) in the autumn prior to the spring planting season; however, there is potential for spring work prior to tree planting. It is expected that the successful bidder will make themselves available at short notice in the springtime to conduct DTA/DTF and trail clearing before planting commences. In the event that the successful bidder(s) perform the DTA/DTF in the spring, their DTA will need to be provided to the Ministry at short notice to inform the tree planters.
These contracts are to perform a preliminary DTA and Falling of identified danger trees ahead of tree planting season. It is understood that the tree planters will need to perform their own DTA in the spring. The works completed in these contracts will account for the bulk of the DTA/DTF and streamline the spring DTA.
These planting units were not harvested; therefore, there are no in-unit roads for the tree planters to access the blocks. Trail clearing is required for ATV access. Trails are cleared in a way that allow ATV access so that tree planters can deliver trees and shorten planting distance to approximately 200 meters off of trails (so trails can be 400 m apart).
A package containing information regarding wildlife trees and culturally modified trees will be provided to the successful bidder(s) at the pre-work conference. It will be expected that the Contractor will follow the best practices set forth in this package.
Further details as to the scope of this opportunity and the requirements can be found within this RFP.
