Description
Notice is hereby given that the Province of British Columbia, as represented by the
Ministry of Children and Family Development is contemplating making a direct
award of a contract to Consortium for Children (the “Supplier”).
The high-level details of the contemplated contract are generally described below.
Structured Analysis Family Evaluation (SAFE) is the Consortium for Children's (CFC)
standardized home study methodology used by both private and public child
welfare agencies to study and evaluate prospective adoptive, kin, and foster
families. SAFE aids home study practitioners in performing a thorough, structured,
and uniform evaluation of families who have applied to foster or adopt. The SAFE
home study has been used as the model of practice for Ministry of Children and
Family Development (MCFD) and Indigenous Child and Family Service (ICFS)
Agencies home studies for over 10 years. Learning and Development (L&D) offers
SAFE training for ICFS Agency and MCFD staff consisting of a suite of courses
designed to meet the needs of front-line staff performing home studies and their
supervisors: SAFE Evaluation, SAFE Interviewing, SAFE for Supervisors and SAFE
Refresher.
