The Department of National Defence has a requirement for a portable, lightweight means to provide invasive and non-invasive ventilation in both training and operational environments including domestic or austere tasks or missions where high quality mechanical ventilation from point of injury to appropriate healthcare setting is essential to the survival of the injured individual.
