The replacement must include all applicable ducting, venting and electrical work. The existing unit has reached the end of its life cycle and is not repairable.

    Objectives: The contractor must;

    • Empty and contain the remaining R22 freon from the existing AC unit.
    • The contractor is responsible for removing the existing unit, line sets and ductless units from the site.
    • New line sets and ductless heads will be installed in the existing locations.
    • The contractor will be required to install a concrete pad to accommodate the new outdoor AC units. The pad size will be 6’x20’.
    • The 2 new outdoor units will be installed on elevated stands 12”-18” above ground level.
    • The contractor must provide a 5-ton and 3-ton heat pump unit complete with line sets up to 80’ in length to connect to 7 ductless units to be installed in the upper program rooms. The 5 ton will supply 4 ductless units installed in 2 separate rooms and the 3 ton will supply 3 ductless units installed in 3 separate rooms.
    • 5 Thermostats will be provided to control each of the 5 rooms. The thermostats will be programable to provide both heat and cool options.
    • The system will have the option to connect with the existing Building Automated System to prevent existing heat/cooling conflict during operation.
    • 2 new branch circuits will be required/installed from the nearby electrical room that supplies power to the existing AC unit.
    • The Contractor must complete, in full, the “400 – Halocarbon Activities form – Ontario” (attached in Annex C) for each service and have it submitted to and signed off by the Project Authority, before they can leave the site once the work is complete. The Contractor must complete a Release Report form (attached in Annex D) as well as the Activities Form for the repair (attached above).
