Description
CDIC seeks to procure professional services from a single Supplier to architect, plan, implement, test, and deliver the two use cases outlined in this RFP on the existing Azure Databricks platform within CDIC’s Azure environment. The term of any resulting agreement will be for an Initial Term of one (1) year with up to three (3) consecutive optional periods of one (1) year, which if exercised, may be exercised individually or multiple at a time, at CDIC’s sole discretion.
The Supplier will work collaboratively with CDIC’s development team to design and build the solution, ensuring alignment with established governance, security, and networking standards. Through this engagement, the Supplier will also enable knowledge transfer by equipping CDIC’s technical staff with the skills, design patterns, and best practices required to independently develop and support future Azure Databricks use cases across the organization.
The engagement aims to deliver a modern, cloud-first data architecture that enhances operational resiliency, supports standardized data governance and cataloging, and provides flexibility to adapt to other initiatives within CDIC including Data Collection Modernization (“DCM”) described below. The design must meet evolving business needs by improving analytics, risk assessments, and modelling capabilities while promoting internal team capability and self-sufficiency.
The Supplier must ensure that the design and deployment incorporate ongoing cost optimization practices, including cluster management, workload optimization, resource allocation, monitoring, governance, and architecture that allows for the future integration of other Microsoft data ecosystem components such as Microsoft Fabric.
The objectives must meet two (2) functional, production use cases (hereafter referred to as the “Services”). The two (2) cases that anchor this initiative are:
1- Data Warehouse Modernization; and
2 - Migration of Python/R-based Workloads.
For additional information, please refer to Schedule "A" (Statement of Work) of this Request for Proposals (RFP).
