    Description

5P468-23-0150/A Stage 2 – Jake’s Landing Pedestrian Bridge Kejimkujik National Park and National Historic Site

    REQUIREMENT
The former floating bridge that spanned the Mersey River at Jake’s Landing in Kejimkujik National Park and National Historic Site was damaged beyond repair during Hurricane Fiona. The floating bridge was an important pedestrian bridge that connected the campground and Jake’s Landing. The objective of this project is to replace the former floating bridge with a permanent bridge structure on the same horizontal alignment. The new structure will be comprised of a composite fiber technology (CFT) superstructure, in line with the Federal Government and Park’s Canada broader goal of sustainable development, and a combination of deep and shallow foundation(s) substructure.
From hydrological analysis and geotechnical investigations already completed, the new bridge will consist of a Three-Span CFT Bridge structure with three truss spans (two approach truss spans and one center truss span).
