    Description

    This is the first phase (Phase 1) of a two-phase competition: the first phase will evaluate the qualifications of all bidders; second phase (Phase 2) will invite the qualified bidders to provide a financial bid on the project based on the specifications and drawings. Upon award of contract in Phase Two the pre-qualification list will be terminated, no additional contracts will be awarded.

    The scope of work for this project consists of the furnishing of all plant, labour, equipment and material for the reconstruction of the launchway at Arnold’s Cove, NL.

    In general, the work under this contract consists of, but will not necessarily be limited to, the following:

    .1 Complete removal and disposal of the existing launchway and related items. All cribwork, including any which may have settled into the harbour bottom, to be completely removed.
    .2 Removal of existing armour stone and asphalt to facilitate new work. Reinstall and reshape existing amour stone to tie into new work.
    .3 Excavation of existing ground to facilitate placement of the new launchway, including cribseat excavation for placement of cribwork.
    .4 Construction of a new 4.88m wide x 31.255m long launchway consisting of treated timber cribwork, reinforced concrete pre-cast slabs, slab-on-grade, and treated dimension timber.
    .5 Supply and installation of rock fill, granulars, geotextile, and filter stone.
    .6 If required, to facilitate new work, the existing sanitary sewer line shall be temporarily disconnected, reconnected and/or replaced with new materials (including protective pipe), and rerouted as required.
    .7 Asphalt repair/patching as required.

    The Contractor must perform and complete the Work within (12) weeks from the date of notification and acceptance of the offer.
