    Description: Signal Distress Day & Night No.1 Mk5

    A requirement exists to resupply Canada with the Signal Distress Day & Night No.1 Mk5. The Signal Distress Day & Night No.1 Mk5 uses survival signals for alerting potential rescuers of the position of an individual in distress. The waterproof tubular canister contains a flare at one end and a smoke signal on the other end. This signal is packaged in all life rafts aboard Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) aircraft and is also frequently carried by aircrews, soldiers in wilderness environments, and sailors deployed at sea is a buoyant smoke signal for use in rescue situations at sea.

    Unfunded Optional Quantity: 4,320 units per year – Signal Distress Day & Night No.1 Mk5 - Delivery to Canadian Forces Ammunition Depot (CFAD) Dundurn, Dundurn, Saskatchewan between 01 September 2029, 2030 and 30 November 2029, 2030.
