The objective of the Standing Offer is to provide electrical maintenance, repair, and installation services for the Institute of Ocean Sciences (IOS) located in Sidney, B.C and Victoria Base located in Victoria. The services will be delivered on an “as and when requested” basis. The IOS facility comprises multiple structures that house research offices, laboratories, Canada Coast Guard (CCG) and support areas. The site utilizes both municipal potable water and seawater intake systems for various research processes. Support infrastructure includes diverse equipment such as steam and hot water boilers, pumps, air compressors, and various filtration systems. Additionally, there is a significant ammonia chiller plant on-site for cooling process water. Services required will involve the repair and installation of commercial and industrial electrical equipment to support ongoing research and operations.
Located west of Sidney on Vancouver Island on a 120-acre site, the Institute of Ocean Sciences (IOS) is one of Canada's largest marine institutes. An important link in Fisheries and Oceans Canada's nationwide chain of nine major scientific facilities, the institute is the center for research on coastal waters of B.C., the Northeastern Pacific Ocean, the western Canadian Arctic and navigable fresh waters east to the Alberta border.
The CCG Regional Operations Centre (ROC), Pacific Region, is located at the CCG Base at 25 Huron Street in Victoria. The staff at ROC facilitates the overall scheduling & co-ordination of the Canadian Coast Guard Pacific Region Fleet, to ensure of the best use of the available resources for regular program delivery, as well as during "emergency situations".
Some of the sites electrical arrangements include but are not limited to electrical motors, indoor and outdoor commercial lighting systems, 480V & 600V high voltage equipment and distribution systems, shore power kiosks, low voltage sensing equipment, UV sanitation systems, variable speed motor control systems, commercial and industrial electrical distribution systems, human machine interface (HMI) equipment, computer network systems, commercial fire detection and life safety systems and security camera systems.
Contract duration
The estimated contract period will be 44 month(s), with a proposed start date of 2025/07/21.
