    Two Phase Selection Process:
    This is the first phase (Phase One) of a two-phase competition. The first phase will evaluate the qualifications of all bidders. The second phase, (Phase Two), will invite the qualified bidders to provide a financial bid on the project based on the specifications and drawings. Upon award of a contract in Phase Two, the pre-qualification list resulting from the first phase will expire and will not be used in any other solicitation.
    Work Description:
    The Contractor shall provide all necessary labor, materials, equipment, project management, and contract administration work required to complete the below scope of work:

    1. Contractor shall provide all labour, materials and equipment necessary for the proper and timely completion of the mechanical systems required to have Argon gas to be transported from the main tank near the warehouse to the 4th and 7th floor of the main building. (Around 800 m of Argon piping infrastructure to be installed)

    2. All materials and equipment and the furnishing of all labour shall be included to provide systems ready for satisfactory operation of laboratories equipment that uses Argon gas.

    3. Furnish all required labour and materials, machinery, scaffolding tools, implements, or other appliances together with all proper and required facilities for moving and transporting same, so that the Contract and all Work to be done under it, can and will be carried on in a workmanlike manner, properly, satisfactorily, continuously, and expeditiously, to completion, in all respects to the satisfaction of the Owner.

    4. Mechanical Contractor to be aware that any Work required to be performed in the building is to be carefully and closely coordinated. The areas to be affected by the new piping Work and demolition Work shall be identified prior to commencing construction as soon as possible after award of Contract. The drawings show piping in a general arrangement. The actual pipe and duct layout is to be determined prior to fabrication only after close examination of obstructions such as structural systems, ceiling systems, light fixtures, fan coil units, piping, and ductwork.

    Site Visit:
    There will be a mandatory site visit during the second phase of the tender.

    Delivery Date:
    Once the contract is awarded, ECCC and the contractor will agree on an acceptable and reasonable schedule considering lead times for delivery of construction materials, weather conditions and any other restrictions due to the location of the site.
    Estimated Value:
    To assist with bonding and insurance requirements, this project is estimated to cost approximately between $400,000.00 and $500,000.00 (taxes excluded).
    Documents may be submitted in either official language of Canada.

    The estimated contract period will be 5 month(s), with a proposed start date of 2023/11/01.
