The imminent Ontario Battery and Electrochemical Research Centre (OBERC) will house a High-Resolution Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) dedicated to microscopic and spectroscopic analysis of, often air- and moisture-reactive, battery materials such as lithium and sodium anodes, high voltage cathodes, solid-state electrolytes, etc.
