General Contractors for the Cardiovascular Surgery (“CVS”) Expansion Project

This Request for Pre-Qualifications (“RFPQ”) is issued by Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre (“TBRHSC”) to prequalify General Contractors with the appropriate experience, and qualifications to bid on the construction of the Cardiovascular Surgery (“CVS”) Expansion Project (“Project”).

The Project includes the construction of a 59,500 square foot addition to the existing TBRHSC building consisting of two (2) floors from the ground level and a mechanical penthouse. The addition will include a new hybrid operating room equipped with C-arm imaging technology, (6) Critical Care Unit (CCU) inpatient beds, (14) cardiovascular inpatient beds, and an ambulatory care clinic. The Project also includes a 14,000 square foot renovation to the existing Medical Department Reprocessing Department (MDRD), phlebotomy and ECG rooms, and two (2) existing operating rooms. The renovations to TBRHSC will require a multi-staged approach to allow the respective areas to function operationally during construction without significant interruption.
