Stage 2 Procurement - University of Ottawa – Student Housing Development Project

This RFP is the continuation of the procurement process undertaken by the University of Ottawa (the “University”) for the student housing Project to: 

(a)    design, construct, finance and operate additional housing facilities on and around the University (“Student Housing Requirements”); and
(b)    potentially undertake additional development on lands owned or controlled by the University in order to satisfy the Student Housing Requirements, which could include multi-tenant occupancy and/or other forms of occupancy or ownership of the Facility, air rights granted in respect of a given Existing Facility or New Facility (the “Additional Development”), (collectively, the “Project”). 

The University of Ottawa is seeking a partner (the “Developer”) with experience in student life and experience in a learning environment, real estate development and student housing facility operations and maintenance to undertake the Project. 

All lands required for implementation of the Project and that are currently owned by the University will be retained by the University, and the Developer will be given access to such lands as are necessary for the Project through a lease-leaseback or alternative contractual approach. 


For further clarity, the listed Delivery Date is an anticipated timeline of when the University expects to conclude the evaluation of this RFP. This date is subject to change as the Project progresses and is for administrative use only.
