D2.          SCOPE OF WORK

D2.1        The Work to be done under the Contract shall consist of three parts:
(a)   Part 1 – City Funded Work
(b)   Part 2 – Transit Improvements
(c)    Part 3 – Water and Waste Work.

Part 1 – City Funded Work
D2.2
Part 1 – City Funded Work shall consist of:
(a)   Pavement Rehabilitation
(i)     Addington Bay (North Leg) from End to Oakdale Drive
(ii)     Addington Bay (South Leg) from End to Oakdale Drive
(iii)     Alenbrook Bay (South Leg) From End to Oakdale Drive
(iv)     Bellavista Crescent from Rogan Drive to Voyageur Avenue
(v)     Radar Place from Rogan Drive to Voyageur Avenue
(vi)     Rogan Drive from Bellavista Crescent to Hamilton Avenue
(vii)     Raquette Street from Assiniboine Avenue to Browning Boulevard
(viii)     West Avenue from Whitegates Crescent to Rouge Road
(ix)     Denton Place from Grant Avenue to End
(x)     Golf Boulevard from Meadowside Drive to McBey Avenue
(b)   Thin Bituminous Overlay
(i)     Cora Avenue from Whitegates Crescent to Maureen Street
(ii)     Kilmer Avenue from Longfellow Bay to Carroll Road
(iii)     Greenacre Boulevard from McBey Avenue to Portage Avenue
(c)    Alley Pavement Rehabilitation

Part 2 – Winnipeg Transit Funded Work

Part 2 – Winnipeg Transit Funded Work shall consist of:
(a)   Transit Improvements
(i)     Cavalier Drive and Ness Avenue
(ii)     Betsworth Avenue and Cullen Drive

Part 3 – Water and Waste Funded Work

D2.4        Part 3 – Water and Waste Funded Work shall consist of:
(a)   Manhole Repairs
(i)     Addington Bay (South Leg)
(ii)     Alenbrook Bay (South Leg)
(iii)     Raquette Street
(iv)     Portage Avenue Alley between Wallasey Street and Aldine Street
(b)   Sewer Repairs
(i)     Raquette Street

D2.5        The City currently has no approved funding in the Capital Budget for Part 2 or Part 3 
of the Work, but is anticipating receiving notification about funding from Winnipeg Transit and the 
City of Winnipeg Water and Waste Department, respectively, by late May.  Part 2 and Part 3 of the 
Work are contingent upon Winnipeg Transit and the City of Winnipeg Water and Waste Department 
approving sufficient funding.
D2.5.1             Further to C7.1, if notice of sufficient funding is not received, the City shall 
have the right to eliminate all or any portion of Part 2 or Part 3, and the Contract Price will be 
reduced accordingly.
D2.5.2             Further to C7.5, C7.5.1, and C7.6, a reduction in the Contract Price pursuant to 
D2.5.1 shall not be considered in calculating the aggregate reduction in the Contract Price for 
purposes of C7.5.
D2.5.3             If all or any portion of Part 2 or Part 3 is eliminated pursuant to D2.5.1, the 
time periods stipulated in D19 for Substantial Performance of the Work and in D20 for Total 
Performance of the Work will be reduced proportionally by the Contract Administrator acting 
reasonably.

D2.6        The major components of the Work are as follows:
(a)   Street Pavement Rehabilitation (Addington Bay (North Leg), Addington Bay (South Leg), 
Alenbrook Bay (South Leg), Bellavista Crescent, Radar Place, Rogan Drive, Raquette Street, West 
Avenue, Denton Place, Golf Boulevard)
(i)     Installation of new catch basins/catchpits and sewer service/drainage connection pipe
(ii)     Renewal of miscellaneous pavement slabs (150mm reinforced concrete pavement)
(iii)     Renewal of existing barrier curb
(iv)     Planing of existing mountable curb
(v)     Construction of modified 75mm lip curb
(vi)     Renewal of existing sidewalks c/w detectable warning tiles as required
(vii)     Adjustment of catch basins and manholes
(viii)     Planing of existing asphalt pavement
(ix)     Installation of pavement repair fabric at various locations

(x)     Construction of new asphalt overlay (85mm average thickness)
(xi)     Adjustment of paving stones or patio blocks
(xii)     Boulevard restoration
(b)   Thin Bituminous Overlay (Cora Avenue, Kilmer Avenue, Greenacre Boulevard)
(i)     Renewal of miscellaneous pavement slabs (150mm reinforced concrete pavement)
(ii)     Renewal of existing 7 mm lip curb
(iii)     Adjustment of catch basins and manholes
(iv)     Construction of new asphalt overlay (65mm average thickness)
(v)     Boulevard restoration
(c)    Alley Pavement Rehabilitation (Bedson Street and Best Street Alley, Portage Avenue Alleys)
(i)     Renewal of miscellaneous pavement slabs (150mm reinforced concrete pavement)
(ii)     Adjustment of catch basins and manholes
(iii)     Construction of new asphalt overlay on Portage Avenue north alley bounded by Wallasey 
Street and Aldine Street
(iv)     Boulevard and granular surface restoration
(d)   Sidewalk Renewal (Local Streets and Portage Avenue)
(i)     Abandonment of existing drainage inlets, installation of new catch pits / catch basins and 
renewal of miscellaneous slabs (150mm reinforced concrete pavement) (Westgrove Way to Westgrove 
School and Savoy Crescent to Alley North of Speyside Avenue)
(ii)     Removal of existing sidewalk (Local Streets and Portage Avenue)
(iii)     Construction of new 100mm sidewalk (Local Streets and Portage Avenue)
(iv)     Construction of new monolithic curb and 100mm sidewalk (Betsworth Avenue and Portage 
Avenue)
(v)     Construction of new monolithic curb and 150mm reinforced sidewalk for Transit shelters 
(Portage Avenue)
(vi)     Installation of detectable warning surface tiles (Betsworth Avenue and Portage Avenue)
(vii)     Adjustment of curb stop boxes, valves, and manhole frames (Local Streets and Portage 
Avenue)
(viii)     Boulevard restoration (Local Streets and Portage Avenue)
(e)   Transit Improvements (Ness Avenue and Cavalier Drive, Betsworth Avenue and Cullen Drive)
(i)     Removal of existing concrete bus pads
(ii)     Construction of new concrete monolithic curb and 150mm reinforced sidewalk at specified 
locations
(iii)     Renewal of existing barrier curb
(iv)     Boulevard restoration
(f)    Water and Waste Work (Addington Bay (South Leg), Alenbrook Bay (South Leg), Raquette Street, 
and Portage Avenue Alley between Wallasey Street and Aldine Street)
(i)     Grouting cracks and creviced on manhole walls
(ii)     Replace existing pre-cast concrete risers
(iii)     Repair of concrete benching in manholes
(iv)     External point repairs to existing sewer mains
(v)     Inspection of manholes
(vi)     Inspection of sewers.
