    Description:
York University Energy Management is seeking to replace an existing deaerator that is original to their Central Utilities Building from 1965.  This deaerator removes dissolved oxygen from the incoming feedwater before it reaches the boiler feed pumps. Reducing oxygen content helps minimize corrosion in the boiler system. The deaerator can only be offline for certain months of the year; therefore careful planning and execution is essential.  It is located on the mezzanine level of the plant and the proposed delivery and installation is through an exterior wall that will be coordinated with a separate contractor.

York will only consider Proposal submissions received from Proponents who have registered with MERX (www.MERX.com) for this competitive bid.  Proposal submissions from Proponents who have not registered and obtained this Bid Document directly from MERX will be disqualified.
