Description:
The RFP is an invitation to submit offers for the Supply and Install of a Whole Body 7 Tesla Magnetic Resonance Imaging Scanner, as further described herein.
The Centre for Functional and Metabolic Mapping (CFMM) is a fully translational Magnet Resonance Imaging (MRI) core facility supporting research across the lifespan, from pre-clinical models to human studies. The facility currently operates a Siemens 3 T Prisma Fit system adjacent to the existing 7 T MRI suite, as well as pre-clinical Bruker MRI systems at 9.4 T and 15.2 T, enabling integrated imaging across species from mouse to human.
The new 7 T whole-body MRI system will be installed at the site of the existing CFMM 7 T MRI, replacing the current human head-only platform, and will ensure continuity of existing research programs while continuing to support and advance research in anatomical, metabolic, and functional characteristics of brain development, healthy aging, and neuropsychiatric and neurodegenerative disease.
The transition to an FDA-approved whole-body 7 T MRI system will expand the research program to include additional campus groups and applications (e.g., musculoskeletal and body imaging), while enabling harmonization with other ultra-high field sites and participation in multi-institutional studies and clinical trials.
