D2. SCOPE OF WORK
D2.1 The Work to be done under the Contract shall consist of:
(a) Asphalt Roadway Construction and Rehabilitation:
(i) Kilcona Park Roadway from Norris Road to Harbourview Access Road.
(b) Asphalt Roadway Reconstruction:
(i) Harbourview Park Access Road from Springfield Road to Northern Terminus.
D2.2 The major components of the Work are as follows:
(a) Asphalt Roadway Construction (Kilcona Park Roadway):
(i) Removal of organic material including trees, bushes, grass, and topsoil;
(ii) Removal of bollards and gates;
(iii) Excavation of roadway, multi-use path and ditches;
(iv) Installation of temporary silt fencing;
(v) Removal of existing and installation of new culverts;
(vi) Installation of culvert safety grates;
(vii) Installation of a new one thousand (1,000) millimetre (mm) diameter culvert;
(viii) Abandonment of an existing one thousand (1,000) mm diameter culvert;
(ix) Compaction of existing subgrade;
(x) Placement of suitable site fill material;
(xi) Installation of geotextile;
(xii) Placement of sub-base and base course materials;
(xiii) Installation of French drains;
(xiv) Installation of granular pathways and parking lots;
(xv) Supply and installation of precast concrete parking curbs;
(xvi) Installation of random stone riprap;
(xvii) Removal of existing and temporary fencing;
(xviii) Removal of existing weigh scale;
(xix) Removal of existing asphalt approaches and accesses;
(xx) Planning of existing asphalt pavement;
(xxi) Installation of bollards and waste receptacles;
(xxii) Installation of 1.8 metre (m) chain link fencing and locking gates;
(xxiii) Installation of mulch pathways with owner supplied mulch;
(xxiv) Installation of new and relocation of existing boulders;
(xxv) Installation of trees;
(xxvi) Installation of topsoil;
(xxvii) Installation of sod;
(xxviii) Placement of Type MS2 asphalt pavement utilizing grade control equipment (average
thickness of sixty [60] mm);
(xxix)
Placement of Type MS1 asphalt pavement utilizing grade control equipment (average thickness of
fifty [50] mm);
(b) Asphalt Roadway Reconstruction (Harbourview Access Road)
(i) Installation of geotextile and EnviroGrid;
(ii) Construction of temporary access road;
(iii) Excavation;
(iv) Compaction of existing subgrade;
(v) Placement of suitable site fill material;
(vi) Removal of existing catch basin;
(vii) Installation of new catch basin;
(viii) Installation of subdrains;
(ix) Installation of geotextile;
(x) Placement of sub-base and base course materials;
(xi) Installation of French drains;
(xii) Supply and installation of precast concrete parking curbs;
(xiii) Installation of random stone riprap;
(xiv) Installation of topsoil and sod;
