Description:
The RFP is an invitation to submit offers for the provision of The Supply and Install of an In‑Situ Electrochemical Cell for Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) and Scanning Transmission X‑ray Microscopy (STXM) as further described herein.
Western University seeking to procure an electrochemical flow cell for a high-resolution transmission electron microscope (Spectra 200, Thermo Fisher) and scanning transmission X-ray microscopy at the SM beamline at the Canadian Light Source. The electrochemical cell shall be designed for room temperature, aqueous electrolytes of pH ranges 3-10, and possibly some organic electrolytes. We are seeking a system that is easy to use, robust for ultra-high vacuum systems, and considerate of bubble formation. The ideal system can be used both at the Canadian Light Source and in the TEM facility (Western Advanced Materials Foundry) at Western University. The selected vendor should be interested in collaborating and developing the system further in collaboration with these facilities.
The research is focused on corrosion and interfacial phenomena in battery research.
